Our usual Sip n Stick will be combined with some more Blackout Poetry this week - come along and try one or both of these fun and simple creative activities. What is Blackout Poetry? Blackout poetry is a creative way of transforming existing text into something entirely new. Using a page from a book, newspaper, or magazine, you’ll black out unwanted words, leaving behind a poetic phrase or hidden message that emerges from the text. It’s a mix of creativity, intuition, and a little bit of play! But it doesn’t stop there — once your poem is revealed, you can decorate, paint, or illustrate the page to bring your words to life. Add colour, patterns, or imagery to enhance the mood of your poem and turn it into a unique work of art.
